A 2026 study of 253 817 inbound B2B leads across 1 247 companies found the median response time is a staggering 42 hours, and only 7% of teams reply within five minutes. Yet leads contacted in under five minutes convert to an opportunity at 21%, against just 2.3% for those answered after 24 hours. On top of that, 78% of buyers end up purchasing from the company that responds first.

Why it matters: if you run paid traffic to a demo request or contact form, the response time behind that form often moves your conversion number more than anything on the page itself. Tightening your reply SLA is one of the cheapest wins available.
